Writing-Letter 'd'

This week Junior Infants have been learning to write the letter 'd'.

 

We have been doing lots of different activities to help us write this letter.

Free Writing

This week we had lots of fun learning our new sight words. Some of us have even started writing our sight words during our Free Writing time.

I am 5

 

Snowy Village

 

Junior Infants really enjoyed creating their very own Snowy Village.

Firstly we designed the type of house
 that we wanted in our village.

Some of us chose bungalows and others
chose apartments and cottages.

Next we carefully cut out the shapes of our houses using our own scissors. We also remembered to cut out the windows and doors!

Then we used glue to stick these on to our snowy background which we had painted earlier.

Our Christmas Show

We worked very hard preparing for our Christmas show. Thank you to everyone who came to see us on the night. We really enjoyed performing on the stage.

 

Winter Art

Junior Infants have been busy during December learning all about Winter. Today we made these colourful penguins. We learned that penguins live in a very cold place. We made a colourful scarf and hat for each penguin. They look very colourful in our classroom.

 

Colourstrings

We have been learning lots of new songs with Múinteoir Marsha this term. We use our solfa hand signs when we are singing and we really enjoy exploring the various musical instruments.

 

Winter

This month we have been learning all about Winter. We have been looking for all the signs of Winter outside and we are talking about the clothes we wear and the food and drinks we have at this time of year.
Have a look at the winter trees we made. Our trees have lost all of their leaves and there is lots of snow on the ground. We have even learned a new song about snowflakes.
