Winter Art

Junior Infants have been busy during December learning all about Winter. Today we made these colourful penguins. We learned that penguins live in a very cold place. We made a colourful scarf and hat for each penguin. They look very colourful in our classroom.

 

Colourstrings

We have been learning lots of new songs with Múinteoir Marsha this term. We use our solfa hand signs when we are singing and we really enjoy exploring the various musical instruments.

 

Winter

This month we have been learning all about Winter. We have been looking for all the signs of Winter outside and we are talking about the clothes we wear and the food and drinks we have at this time of year.
Have a look at the winter trees we made. Our trees have lost all of their leaves and there is lots of snow on the ground. We have even learned a new song about snowflakes.

 

Houses and Homes

Junior Infants have been busy learning about the different types of houses we live in.

We talked about the different rooms that you can find inside a house and we  even drew a picture of our own home.

We had lots of fun playing with our new doll's house during play time activities.

Yoga

Junior infants have been doing Yoga class every Wednesday for the month of November.

We have really enjoyed it and we love doing our yoga poses.

We have practiced different types of breathing and enjoyed relaxing.

Number Fun

We are having lots of fun writing our numbers.

We use these fun rhymes to help us to remember each number.

 

 

 

Science Week

We really enjoyed celebrating Science Week in our school.

We learned some really interesting things from the scientist who visited our school. We learned a lot about something that is all around even though it is invisible; air. We had a great time.

Halloween Fun

Well done to all the boys and girls who wore their spooky Halloween costumes to school today.
We talked about our costumes and played scary Hallween games. We were so excited about bringing home our Trick or' Treat bags.

Maths for Fun Day

Maths Trail

Today Junior Infants went on a colour trail around our classroom. We had to work with our groups to find different coloured items in certain areas of the room. We found lots of blue, green, red, yellow and orange items.
We were very lucky to have leaders from Múinteoir Michelle's Senior Infants in our room to help us.
Senior Infants helped us to record our findings and afterwards we discussed our results with everyone.

Thank you Senior Infants for coming to our classroom. We had so much fun.
