Halloween Fun

Well done to all the boys and girls who wore their spooky Halloween costumes to school today.
We talked about our costumes and played scary Hallween games. We were so excited about bringing home our Trick or' Treat bags.
Have a safe and Happy Halloween everyone.

Maths Trail

Today Junior Infants went on a colour trail around our classroom. We had to work with our groups to find different coloured items in certain areas of the room. We found lots of blue, green, red, yellow and orange items.
We were very lucky to have leaders from Múinteoir Michelle's Senior Infants in our room to help us.
Senior Infants helped us to record our findings and afterwards we discussed our results with everyone.

Thank you Senior Infants for coming to our classroom. We had so much fun.

Hedgehog Art

We learned all about hedgehogs this week.
We then had great fun painting our own hedgehogs. First we painted the hedgehog brown, then we painted the leaves and background in Autumn colours. When it was dry we stuck on matchsticks for the spines.

We are very proud of our work.

Autumn Trees

Have a look at the Autumn trees that we painted.

Maths for Fun

Today was Maths for Fun Day in Junior Infants. This morning we played lots of different maths games with some of our parents.

A big ‘thank you’ to the Mums and Dads who volunteered to come and join us. We really enjoyed having you in our class.  Everyone was very good at taking turns and working together.
We all had a great time.

Pattern work in Junior Infants

We are having lots of fun this week to celebrate Maths Week.

Today we were working with patterns. We see patterns everywhere- on our clothes, on animals and all around our school.

This morning in school we made patterns with teddy bears. We had lots of fun.

Autumn Maths

Today, we sorted all of the items that we collected on our nature walk last week.

Múinteoir Danielle found an acorn and brought it in to school to show us.

Wally and Dina come to visit

Today Wally and Dina came to visit our classroom.

Wally and Dina help us to understand how important it is to do our best in school and be kind and caring to one another.

We had to knock three times to wake Dina up.

Autumn

Junior Infants have been very busy learning all about autumn. On Thursday we went on an autumn walk to the local woods. On our way there we saw our new school.

We noticed the leaves on the trees changing colour from green to yellow, red, orange and brown. We also found some blackberries and hazelnuts.

We really enjoyed our Autumn walk.

Off we go

We found lots of autumn leaves.

Look at the blackberries we found.

We found hazelnuts too.

Our new school.

Back to School

We had a great first week back in school. Although some things in school are a little different this year we are all so delighted to be back...
